Volunteer in Mission (VIM) and Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers in Mission (VIM) and Habitat for Humanity merged about 8 years ago due to overlapping interests and skills. VIM sends teams to help rebuild homes in response to disaster relief needs. Since COVID we have sent teams to Philadelphia and Western North Carolina. Since the 1990s, we have sent teams to Alaska, Russia, a Lakoda reservation in South Dakota., New Orleans, and sites in North Carolina. We have supported the local Habitat for Humanity office by conducting a panel build (framing the outside walls of a home) for each of the last 10 years. This involves raising $10K and having our church volunteers hammer the frames. We also have teams work at home sites on a given Saturday.
We meet twice a year in March and October and do several fundraising activities during the year to fund our activities. If you want to be on our mailing list, email Randy Wentsel at wentsel@hotmail.com.

Chabadza – Healing Hands Across Zimbabwe
The Chabadza Team is responding to Jesus’ call to bring relief to the last, lost, least and little by providing medical care to the Munyarari Mission in Zimbabwe. Chabadza is a Shona word meaning “come alongside.” The spirit of chabadza is to stop and help as needed as you travel along life’s path. Our goal is to come alongside the people of Zimbabwe to offer medical care.
Who Do We Serve?
The villages surrounding Munyarari Mission lack immediate access to even the most basic medical care. Our clinic serves everyone – from infants to the elderly – in all health conditions and reaches out to those infected with HIV/AIDS.
What Do We Do?
We provide salaries for nurses, medicines, and medical equipment to the clinic through fundraising.
How Can You Help?
Join our Team! We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month – but please check church calendar for any changes. All are welcome to participate. Raise awareness! Talk about the needs of Zimbabwe among your family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances.
You may make financial contributions to this mission of health and mercy. Send or drop off your check made payable to Bel Air United Methodist Church with “Chabadza” written on the memo line.
