Toy Workshop

What Is It?

We collect, clean and refurbish gently used toys for our Adopt-a-Child ministry and local agencies every November. We also make gift baskets, fill stockings, and make baby sets which are given to those in need at Christmas

We also support those groups helping children in need such as families, teachers, guidance counselors, and social service agencies.

Who Do We Serve?

We serve children in need in Harford County.  We are also so excited to have expanded our outreach to include the over 300 families who receive food assistance at through our Family Food Ministry.  If the families have children, our volunteers guide them through the ‘toy shop’ to shop for each child.

In 2013, we also reached out to Harvest House rehab facility with gifts for their children, Department of Social Services Independent Living, and the Edgewood Food Bank.

What Do We Do?

We clean, repair, and put new batteries donated toys.  For 2014, we will collect toys from November 1 through November 24.  We will clean, refurbish, and repair toys on November 28 (9:00 am – 5:00 pm), November 29 (noon to 5:00 pm), and December 1 – 6 (9:00 am – 9:00 pm).

How Can You Help?

We need an army of volunteers of all ages who can wash stuffed animals (at home), put together puzzles, check games for completeness, repair bicycles, wash toys, and do a myriad of other tasks. Contact the church office (410-838-5181 or info@baumc.com) to volunteer or for information.
